WOYWW?

Thank you to everyone who came past last week and left a comment and this is WOYWW? this week.  You can check out what's on lots of tables by checking out the link.

Once again I'm in the process of trying to put together a card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  The theme this week is Make a Scene.  Paper piecing with rubber stamps isn't something that I've done very much of, as I never like the quality of my cutting out, and prefer to make toppers with stamped images.  With all the variety of die cuts and die cut decoupage available you can quite easily avoid doing too much cutting.  I still like to have a go at the challenge though and have chosen the Penny Black stamp Mice Day to work around.

For the background I've printed off a scene from the Cute Companions CD.  I discovered I had card with a woodgrain effect so I'm wondering whether to used it to create a picture frame and then use some of the ribbons and diecuts to decorate.  Still a work in progress.

We had another crafting bee at Carol's yesterday.  No theme this week, just everyone doing their own thing.  Recently Ruth had a Stampin' up demonstration with Linda, another crafting bee member, at the helm.  She showed us how to make decorated covers for post-it note pads which would also hold a small pen.  Carol and Sandy were busy making these yesterday with a view to selling them and making a few pennies for themselves.  I think Carol was trying to see how many of her Stampin' up stamps she could put to use.  Ruth was making cards to cover the birthdays which would be happening during her holidays.  Not feeling on top form yesterday she accidentally make an upside down one.  It was one of those days as Heather accidentally made a tent card for her daughter's nineteenth birthday.  These things happen when there's too much chatter and merriment and not enough concentration.  Ann made a lovely sixtieth birthday card and added a topper to an easel card so that it actually looked like a stepper card.  Great effect with no need to measure and cut in the right places.  I managed to put together three birthday cards for uncles with birthdays coming up soon.

Right, must away and get the day started and put last week's WOYWW? card in the post along with another one for a grand nephew.

Hope everyone has a good crafting week.

Thanks for reading
